Nobody likes to throw good money away, so why throw it away on your gas budget? Any vehicle can get better gas mileage, all you need to do is keep up on your vehicle maintenance. Make sure that you get your oil changed regularly and keep your tires properly inflated. Avoid letting your vehicle idle for long periods of time and use your cruise control when you are on the highway. Be sure to observe the posted speed limits, as well. Just going over the speed limit by 5 mpg can cost you an extra $0.17 per gallon of gas and that adds up. Plus, it's the law. Getting a ticket is just as bad as blowing your gas budget. Try to avoid hauling cargo on the roof or back of your vehicle, but if you must, the back is better than the roof as far as wind resistance goes.
