Driving into a pothole can be dangerous and sometimes cause your vehicle suspension damage. AAA made note that almost every year they have responded to over 4 million calls for flat tire assistance because of these dangerous potholes. To help with this problem Ford’s engineers created an advanced system that will help minimize the damage caused by potholes called Continuously Controlled Damping.

This revolutionary computer-controlled shock absorber system reduces the vibrating feeling when driving down a pothole-riddled roadway significantly and adjusts your dampers every 2-milliseconds for the best response. The Continuously Controlled Damping system uses multiple signals that analyze and collect information from their 12 high-resolution sensors, so that when the edge of a pothole is detected, the computer dampers will adjust in a fraction of a second to its stiffest setting to preventing the wheel from falling far into the pothole.

Be on the lookout for this Continuously Controlled Damping as it debuts on the all-new 2017 Ford Fusion V6 Sport. Visit Pruitt Ford to schedule your test drive.
