This year, the Ethisphere Institute honored 131 companies across industry sectors as the 2016 World's Most Ethical Companies. Ford first made the list in 2010, and has maintained their title ever since.

"This honor celebrates our employees who are committed to doing the right things and making the right choices," said Bill Ford, executive chairman, Ford Motor Company. "Ethics and corporate citizenship are the foundation of what drives us to make people’s lives better."

Ford achieved high marks in all five of Ethisphere's judging categories:

  • Ethics and Compliance
  • Corporate Citizenship and Responsibility
  • Culture of Ethics
  • Governance
  • Leadership, Innovation, and Reputation

Ford's scoring in these areas is evident across the company's operations, from environmental conservation, to providing good working conditions for employees, to pushing for technological innovation.

"Ford understands that trust is the cornerstone of everything it does," said Ethisphere CEO Timothy Erblich, "and their commitment to being an active part of a global community helps explain why they are the only automaker Ethisphere has recognized every year since 2010. Being honored for the seventh time is no small achievement."
